IHHELPP president Rene Doria and VP for Communications Jean Doria visited Cristo Rey High School in Capas, Tarlac, Philippines last March 15 to meet with school principal Arlene P. Apostol, senior high school focal person Elizabeth Estabillo, and the Cristo Rey IHHELPP team.

The meeting was meant to establish an official partnership between IHHELPP and Cristo Rey High School.

“I am grateful that Rene and Jean personally came to offer help,” said Arlene P. Apostol, principal of Cristo Rey High School. “I am proud of the students who wrote for IHHELPP.”

“Cristo Rey High School (CRHS) is indeed blessed to have this opportunity to partner with an international non-profit like
IHHELPP.” Elizabeth Estabillo commented.

In return, IHHELPP has sponsored classrooms in the said school.

“I am impressed with your articles. Such amazing work!” Jean Doria told the students. “Never stop writing. Writing is a critical ability that creates change. It could be the stepping stone to achieve your dreams.”

Rene and Jean Doria also spoke to students who are recipients of IHHELPP’s first classroom sponsorship.

“Being underprivileged is not a hindrance to achieve your goals,” said Rene Doria
.
“I feel blessed and inspired that they chose our school and our classroom to sponsor,” said Audrey Galindo, an Information and Computer Technology major. “Their message will stay in my heart.”

It is better to give than to receive. This principle guides IHHELPP’s actions as it continues to seek ways to assist the needy in the Philippines.

The proposed technical- vocational trade school will offer a variety of courses like Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB's) and Structural Insulated Panel (SIP's) production, welding, and culinary arts.

This project supports IHHELPP’s vision for education and will provide jobs for the community.

Paul Staples and Lolita Staples, together with student-journalists from Cristo Rey High School led by BYUH alumnus Kit Nadado visited the property IHHELPP purchased in Camiling, Tarlac as the site for the future technical- vocational trade school.
The property covers 1.7 verdant hectares of land alongside McArthur highway in Camiling, Tarlac.

"This is a good and wide place to start our trade school,” said Paul Staples. “I know it will help a lot of students in the future.”
